Walk completed

July 27, 2011

On Monday 11th July I arrived in Berwick upon Tweed to complete the final stage of the Great English Walk. I offer my grateful thanks to Margaret and Brian Nightingale for giving me this wonderful walk and the excellent guide that got me through even the toughest sections.

I’m now working to upload the final sections onto the site but this may take a few more weeks. Please come back again to see what progress has been made.

I do hope that my reports will encourage you to consider taking up the Great English walk challenge, if you are considering walking all or part of the route I am happy to try and answer any questions you might have.

A new feature now available is a map showing the route for each section of the walk. Not a detailed map to follow, you will still need the guide, but it will show the varied and interesting sites to be found along the route of the Great English Walk.

Great English Walk

March 8, 2011

The Great English Walk is a long distance walk from Chepstow to Berwick upon Tweed, winding a way through the shires to includes some of the best scenery in England. The route is described in text and maps in two guide books written and published by Margaret and Brian Nightingale. As I cover the miles I am posting reports of the walk here.
